Beloved by Toni Morrison

Beloved by Toni Morrison

Toni Morrison please get off my chest, I can’t breathe. Toni Morrison just gutted me. Beloved just gutted me. Reading Morrison is a visceral experience not an intellectual one , you read her with all your organs, and cells and blood and body and heart. And she leaves you no respite, no space to breathe. She just grabs hold off you and only lets you go when she is done with you. And all  of this from the comfort of her little writing table and the spell she casts with the stroke of her ink. You are Sethe and Paul D and Denver. How could you not? have you even loved until you have loved the way they have? In a world where the most dangerous thing that could ever exist is to allow yourself to love , where pain is synonymous with breathing and the nature of the human being is at its lowest ?

This is the most difficult beautiful book I have ever read and Morrrison is unparalleled.
