On My TBR Pile: OROMAY by Baalu Girma

I just added Oromay by Baalu Girma to my TBR pile, and I’m so intrigued by this one. It’s set in 1980s Ethiopia, during a time of war, betrayal, and espionage. The story is said to be gripping, emotional, and packed with political intrigue—exactly the kind of book I love getting lost in.

What makes it even more fascinating is the author’s story. Baalu Girma wasn’t just a writer; he was incredibly brave, using his work to critique the regime of his time. Knowing the risks he took makes this book feel even more important.

I can’t wait to dive in. Have you read Oromay? Let me know what you thought—or feel free to join me in picking it up.

Thank you for your support Lia. This book is a page-turner and you will find it difficult to put it down at the close of your busy day, you are tired and you just want to get some sleep.
